Why was the name of PCOS changed?
After hearing about Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, the patient used to think that in this disease cysts are formed in the ovaries, but not every patient has cysts. Regarding this, Dr. Saloni in the Gynecology Department of Safdarjung Hospital says that hormonal and metabolic disturbances in the body of women are more important in this disease of Finland. Cysts are not formed in every woman, but from the old name it seemed that there would be cysts in the ovary. Therefore now the new name has been kept as PMOS. Metabolic has been added to this because metabolic disturbance in the body of women is a big problem in this disease.
cases occurring at a young age
Dr Saloni says that now young women are becoming victims of this disease. Cases are coming even in the age group of 18 to 25 years. The main reason for this is bad eating habits and spoiled lifestyle. In many cases this is also happening due to hormonal disturbances.
