Here he thanked the people for electing Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) and ending the years-old dominance of DMK-AIADMK. In his speech he also targeted political opponents. Vijay said that those who had said that they would remain silent for six months could not remain silent even for six days. Talking about the election results, Vijay described his victory as a rejection of the traditional politics of the state.

  • CM Vijay said, “It has been only a few weeks since I assumed office, yet those who claimed to remain silent for six months could not remain silent even for six days. You rejected two people who were betraying you one by one for so many years. You chose your Vijay, your elder brother, your younger brother, who has really come to work for you, and made him not the Chief Minister, but your first servant.”
  • Vijay assured the people of Tiruchirappalli East. He had won the assembly elections from this seat, but later resigned and kept the Perambur seat for himself. He said that he feels a personal connection with this place.
  • He said, “Now people call me the MLA of Perambur assembly constituency. This is only as per the rules of the Election Commission. But as far as I am concerned, the people of Tiruchirappalli are also very close to my heart.”
