Chandigarh (Punjab) [भारत]July 9 (ANI): The Chandigarh administration has declared the entire Union Territory as a ‘no flying zone’ for drones and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) ahead of two VVIP tours on July 10 and July 16-17. These tours include Vice President CP Radhakrishnan’s visit to Shimla and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the region.
Why and who issued the order?
District Magistrate Nishant Kumar Yadav, IAS, issued two separate orders under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Defense Code (BNSS), 2023, the release said. When will the restrictions be in effect?
As per the orders, a VVIP visit to Chandigarh is scheduled on July 10, while the movement of another VVIP is planned on July 17. As a precautionary measure, flying of drones and UAVs has been completely banned in the entire Union Territory during the notified periods.
