Chand Mera Dil tells the story of Aarav Rawat . On the first day of engineering college in 2017, he expects a boring orientation ceremony. However, when Chandni Rawat arrives on stage and takes everyone by surprise with her fusion dance to a classic song, Aarav cannot take his eyes off her. He observes her every day and subtly hints that he has fallen in love with her. Chandni notices Aarav ‘twinning’ with her. Though she does not make it obvious, she is also observing him. Chandni makes the first move and asks Aarav to help her with her studies. His hostel room is cleaned, decorated and prepared for her arrival. Within moments, they share their first kiss.

What’s the conflict in Chand Mera Dil
Aarav and Chandni are happy in their relationship and do not plan to get married soon. However, she gets pregnant. Aarav wants her to abort the child because they are just undergraduate students and have an entire lifetime to dedicate to their careers. At the hospital, Chandni has a change of heart and refuses to abort the child. Aarav is against the decision. Still, he agrees to stand by Chandni. They decide to loop in their parents and get married. Aarav and Chandni face rejection at home. Their friends volunteer to get them married.
Aarav and Chandni are married and move into a new home. As responsibilities are about to double, he takes up the part-time job of a tutor at a private coaching class. Chandni gives birth to a baby girl, whom they name Kavya. In the initial weeks, they share the responsibilities of looking after Kavya. Post-partum exhaustion, sleepless nights, and other conflicts weaken their relationship. One night, when Aarav grabs Chandni by her face in rage, she decides not to allow history to repeat itself and refuses to let the generational trauma that was passed on from her mother affect the child.
Chandni walks out with Kavya and sends a divorce notice to Aarav. She still loves him, but chooses self-respect. Aarav tries hard to reconcile with Chandni, but she maintains her stand. He is allowed to meet Kavya every weekend. Looking at their bond, Chandni’s feelings towards soften once again. But, she does not wish to be with Aarav again after he got physically violent towards her. She announces her relationship with Kevin (Paresh Pahuja), a colleague, and gets engaged to him.

Aarav leaves for Michigan for further studies. He remains in touch with Kavya, as promised by Chandni. Two years later, he returns to Hyderabad for the next batch’s orientation. When Aarav asks Chandni to also come for the ceremony, she makes an excuse, but surprises him with a dance performance that reminds Aarav and his friends of the first day of engineering college.
Aarav returns to his hostel room, where a painting of him and Chandni brings back memories. He makes an emotional confession that he still loves her and wants her in his life again. Chandni then reveals that she called off her engagement with Kevin hours after the ceremony. Through Kavya’s video calls, she could get a chance to see him. Aarav and Chandni reconcile as evolved people. While balancing their careers, they raise Kavya together.
