Ananya Pandey and Lakshya starrer ‘Chand Mera Dil’ has taken a better start than expected and has grossed more than Rs 13 crore in the opening weekend. Although the film could not create a storm like ‘Sayara’, but in the current era, this performance is being considered as a relief for mid-budget romantic films. Now all eyes are on the Monday test of the film.
The romantic drama film ‘Chand Mera Dil’ directed by Vivek Soni seems to be slowly gaining momentum at the box office. This film starring Ananya Pandey and Lakshya has earned a net worth of more than Rs 11 crore at the domestic box office in the first three days of its release. Although the film is being compared to last year’s blockbuster romance ‘Sayara’, its initial performance is being considered a relief for the industry despite limited star power and mid-budget category. Now the real test will be from Monday’s earnings, which will decide the future of the film.
Biggest jump in ‘Chand Mera Dil’ on third day
‘Chand Mera Dil’ earned Rs 4.35 crore at the domestic box office on Sunday i.e. the third day, which is its biggest single day collection till date. Earlier, the film had done a business of Rs 3.75 crore on Saturday and Rs 3 crore on the opening day. In three days, the domestic net collection of the film has reached Rs 11.10 crore and the gross collection has reached Rs 13.23 crore. At the same time, the film has so far collected around Rs 1.50 crore from the overseas market. In this way, the worldwide gross collection of the film has reached Rs 14.73 crore.

‘Chand Mera Dil’ did not become a sensation like ‘Sayara’
‘Chand Mera Dil’ is constantly being compared to the blockbuster romantic film ‘Sayara’ directed by Mohit Suri. That film, made under the banner of Yash Raj Films, had earned approximately Rs 25 crore at the domestic box office on the first day of its release. In comparison, ‘Chand Mera Dil’ had a very small beginning. However, trade experts believe that in the current era, it is a big thing for romantic films to survive in theaters and in this respect the film has made a respectable start.
How far behind Ananya Pandey’s previous films is ‘Chand Mera Dil’?
Compared to Ananya Pandey’s previous films, the opening weekend of ‘Chand Mera Dil’ seems weak. His previous release ‘Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri’ had earned more than Rs 20 crore in the first three days. Whereas ‘Kesari Chapter 2’ did a business of more than Rs 35 crore in the opening weekend. Films like ‘Dream Girl 2’ and ‘Liger’ had also earned more than this in the first three days. Although big stars like Kartik Aryan, Akshay Kumar, Ayushmann Khurrana and Vijay Deverakonda were present in those films. ‘Chand Mera Dil’ is considered to be the first film in which Ananya Pandey herself has emerged as a big face value of the project.

Why is the film important for Lakshya’s career?
This film is considered very important for Lakshya. ‘Chand Mera Dil’ has done almost the same business in its opening weekend as his debut film ‘Kill’ had earned in the first week. Trade circles believe that if the film survives the Monday test, it could prove to be a strong momentum for Lakshya’s career.
Where does ‘Chand Mera Dil’ stand in comparison to the films of 2026?
The opening weekend of ‘Chand Mera Dil’ has been better than many films released this year. The film has left behind films like ‘Dadi Ki Shaadi’, ‘Ek Din’, ‘Daku’, ‘Tu Ya Main’ and ‘Assi’ in its initial earnings. However, its performance is considered to be very small compared to big films like ‘Ikkis’, ‘Border 2’, ‘Bhoot Bangla’ and ‘Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge’. At present, the industry’s focus is on whether the film will be able to maintain a steady hold at the box office even on weekdays or not.
