Ameesha Patel has said that she has no immediate plans to get married and is perfectly happy being single.
The actress made the candid remark during a recent #AskAmy interaction on X, where a fan asked her when she planned to marry.
Ameesha replied, “Never. Super happy being single. I have 100 close family members and friends who love me. I can’t afford one man to come and change all that.”
Although her response suggested that marriage was not on her mind, Ameesha has previously spoken about the difficult choices she made between love and her career.
During an appearance on Ranveer Allahbadia’s YouTube podcast, she revealed that she once ended a serious relationship because her partner did not want her to enter the film industry.
Ameesha said her former partner came from a prominent South Mumbai industrial family with a background similar to hers. She explained that the relationship appeared ideal in many ways, but problems arose when she decided to pursue acting.
According to her, her partner was uncomfortable with the idea of being with someone in the public eye. She eventually chose her career over the relationship.
The actress said that people who truly love someone should allow their career to grow. She added that she had made sacrifices both for love and for her profession and had learnt valuable lessons from those experiences.
However, Ameesha has not completely ruled out marriage in the past.
She once said that she would be open to getting married if she found someone worthy and emotionally mature. She also revealed that she continued to receive proposals from wealthy families and interest from men much younger than her.
Ameesha said age was not the deciding factor for her, as mental maturity mattered more. She remarked that she had met older men who lacked intelligence and emotional understanding.
Over the years, Ameesha has been linked to several people, but her most widely discussed relationship was with filmmaker Vikram Bhatt in the early 2000s.
