Holidays canceled from April 2 to April 9
According to the information, the holidays of all the policemen have been canceled from April 2 to April 9. It has been reported that no one will be given a holiday except for the most essential requirements. On the day of Ram Navami, a procession is taken out by many organizations not only in Kolkata city but also in different parts of the state. This time in the election season, the movement has increased even more about Ram Navami in Bengal. The police also believe that a large number of people must have stayed on the streets that day.
Mayor visits many areas
ADG South Bengal expressed concern about the security system on the festival and election season a few days ago. Senior officials of Kolkata Police are repeatedly in a press conference that the police is cautious to prevent any kind of unrest on Ram Navami. Strict steps are being taken regarding security. On Tuesday, Kolkata Mayor Manoj Verma visited the large areas of the city. He also visited all the places in different areas of the city including Garden Reach, from where the Ram Navami procession can start.
Will be kept sharp, strict action will be taken
In the last few years, there have been reports of unrest from different regions in the last few years in the state. Therefore, this time the police personnel are paying full attention to the fact that the festival should be dealt with in a peaceful manner. Social media is also being monitored. On Tuesday, Kolkata Police Commissioner Manoj Verma said clearly, ‘Additional police force will be deployed on that day. No one will get upset. If someone comes out with a weapon, action will be taken according to the law.
