BSNL gives order of Rs 856 crore to ITI, 4G will expand in Western India. Iti Gets Rs 856 Crore Order From Bsnl For 4g Network Expansion

Government company ITI Limited has received an order worth Rs 856.39 crore from BSNL for 4G network expansion in Western India. Under this project, indigenous 4G telecom equipment will be installed at 7,613 sites, which is part of the Self-reliant India campaign.

New Delhi [भारत]July 16 (ANI): State-owned telecom equipment manufacturer ITI Limited has received a Phase-4 work order worth Rs 856.39 crore from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL). The company said in a stock exchange filing that the order is for the expansion of its 4G mobile network in western India.

According to the filing, in this order, the planning, engineering, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of BSNL’s 4G mobile network at 7,613 sites in the West Zone will be done on a turnkey basis.

Part of Self-reliant India Initiative

The company said the project is part of BSNL’s indigenous 4G rollout under the government’s ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative. “As part of India’s ‘Atmanirbhar Telecom’ initiative, BSNL is implementing the prestigious project of indigenous 4G telecom equipment to achieve self-reliance in the telecom segment to meet the needs of the domestic market,” the company said in its press release.

Previous project was also successful

ITI Limited said that this new order follows the successful execution of the previously completed Rs 2,640 crore turnkey project for BSNL’s 4G rollout in the West Zone with consortium partner Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). The company said the previous project covered 23,633 sites in Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Mumbai Licensed Service Area (LSA), which included RF planning, engineering, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, integration and annual maintenance of the 4G network.

The company further said that following the successful completion of this project, BSNL has now placed an extension order for an additional 7,613 sites, taking the value of the new contract to Rs 856.39 crore.

The company also said it is currently working on BharatNet Phase-III projects worth about Rs 7,000 crore for BSNL in Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and Manipur. (ANI)
