BSF recovers drone, narcotic substance from village in Amritsar, foils another narco-smuggling attempt

Amritsar (Punjab) [India], October 31 (Desk): The Border Security Force (BSF) troops recovered a drone and a packet of suspected heroin in two separate locations in the border area of Amritsar district on Thursday, according to a BSF press release.
Acting on intelligence inputs, alert BSF troops foiled yet another narco-smuggling attempt across the border.
The BSF stated in the press release, “On October 31, based on information from the BSF intelligence wing, a broken drone was recovered by BSF troops at approximately 09:15 am from a field near Dhanoe Khurd village in Amritsar district.”
Additionally, BSF troops recovered a packet of suspected heroin, weighing approximately 540 grams, at about 10:20 am from a field near Dhanoe Kalan village in Amritsar district.

The BSF noted, “The narcotics were wrapped in yellow adhesive tape. The recovered drone has been identified as a China-made DJI Mavic 3 Classic.”
The BSF added that timely action and reliable intelligence enabled troops to thwart another drone intrusion and narco-smuggling attempt from across the border.
Earlier, the BSF recovered five drones, three packets of suspected heroin, and a pistol from various locations in the border areas of Amritsar and Tarn Taran districts.
According to the BSF press release, “October 30, 2024, was a particularly successful day for the BSF, as vigilant troops, acting on reliable intelligence, recovered five drones, one pistol, and three packets of suspected heroin in a single day from different locations along the border in Amritsar and Tarn Taran districts.”
The BSF reported that a Glock pistol was recovered by vigilant troops at approximately 10:50 am from a field ahead of the border security fence near Kakkar village in Amritsar district. A steel ring and two illuminating sticks were attached to the pistol. (Desk)
