A boy gifted a gaming PC worth lakhs to his girlfriend on her birthday. The girl broke up the very next day after receiving the gift. The boy alleges that the girl pretended to be in love for months just for the gift.
Breakup News: These days, the story of a boy is being discussed a lot on social media, who was cheated by his girlfriend just the next day after receiving a gift worth lakhs. The boy gifted his girlfriend a high-end gaming PC worth around Rs 3.1 lakh (£2500) on her birthday. But as soon as she received the gift, the girl broke up with him. The boy says that later he came to know that all this was a well-planned conspiracy by his girlfriend.
The boy, devastated by this betrayal, shared a post on the social media platform Reddit asking for legal advice, which has now gone viral. Expressing her sadness, she wrote that they had been in a relationship for three years and no one had ever used her like this for their own selfish gains.
The boy said in his post, ‘I spent a lot of money on her birthday and bought her a gaming PC. But the very next day he ended the relationship. Later I came to know from one of her friends that she had already planned to separate from me months ago. She only stayed with me because she was sure that I would buy her this gift. I also have screenshots of the chats she had with her friends, in which she herself admits that she was just pretending till she got the gift.
The boy is now worried about whether he can do anything legally. According to UK law, if a gift is given voluntarily, there is no legal right to ask for it back. The gift becomes the personal property of the recipient. But the boy wants to know whether the law can change in this situation of deception. He asks, ‘I know that legally that PC is now his. But if she was not my girlfriend, I would never have given such an expensive gift. Does it matter that he had planned to deceive me and pretended just for the gift? Can I get that PC back?’
After this post went viral, a debate broke out in the comment section. Some people are advising him to forget it as an expensive lesson, while some say that whether he wins the case or not, dragging him to court would be a good punishment for him. One user wrote, ‘Legally he has a right to the PC, but you have the right to tell his friends and family about his reality. Maybe for him his honor in front of his family is more important than that PC.
