Pakistan is modernizing its Noor Khan airbase after the alleged Indian attack. Satellite images have revealed that new hangars are being built to hide the planes from Indian surveillance. It is an important strategic location near Islamabad.
Islamabad: The repair work on Pakistan’s important ‘Noor Khan’ airbase, which was allegedly targeted by the BrahMos missile during India’s ‘Operation Sindoor’ last year, is almost finished. It is believed that Pakistan is making this preparation to avoid any future attack from India. This time Pakistan is developing Noor Khan Airbase with more modern systems.
Big revelation made from satellite photos
Geo-intelligence expert Damien Simon has recently shared some satellite photos, which have revealed the reality of Noor Khan Airbase. It is clearly visible in these pictures that new hangars are being built at the airbase to keep the planes. Experts believe that this is not just a simple repair, but its real purpose is to hide the Pakistani Air Force aircraft from the eyes of India’s modern surveillance systems and satellites.
India is said to have launched ‘Operation Sindoor’ in response to the Pahalgam attack, in which 11 major military bases of Pakistan were targeted. The attack on Noor Khan airbase, just 25 kilometers from Islamabad, was a major blow to Pakistan. It was only after this missile attack that Pakistan relented and appealed for ceasefire.
fear of drone war
According to defense expert Sandeep Unnithan, after the Iran conflict the world has realized the seriousness of drone war. In this era of swarm drones, no country can afford to park its fighter planes in the open. It is believed that Pakistan is scared of India’s ability to carry out precise drone attacks and is building secure hangars to protect its planes.
Why is Noor Khan Air Base so important?
This airbase was earlier known as ‘Chaklala Base’. This is a very strategic destination for Pakistan. Due to its proximity to Islamabad, it is the main gateway for military and diplomatic movement. The ‘Strategic Plan Division’ (SPD) that controls Pakistan’s nuclear weapons and the Pakistan Army Headquarters (GHQ) are also near this airbase. It is a major center for the operation of large aircraft like C-130 Hercules and IL-78 and fuel tankers.
Important even at international level
Recently, US Vice President J.D. Vance had landed at this airbase for Iran peace talks. This base also played an important role during American operations in Afghanistan. Overall, it is clear from the satellite images that fearing India’s technological strength and ability to carry out precise attacks, Pakistan is now trying to protect its most valuable military assets.
