BNC Stock Snaps Two-Day Slide As CEA Industries Changes Name To BNB Standard

CEA Industries said that 5,799 votes were cast over five days across four shortlisted names for its name change.

  • CEA Industries will rename itself BNB Standard Corporation, effective Tuesday.
  • The name came from an advisory public vote on X, where it drew roughly 47% of the vote.
  • BNC rose more than 2% after falling about 10% over the previous two sessions.

CEA Industries (BNC) shares gained in midday trade on Tuesday, snapping a two-session slide, after the company announced it would rename itself “BNB Standard Corporation” following an open community vote.

The company, which is the world’s largest corporate treasury of Binance-affiliated token BNB, announced that it had put four shortlisted names to an open, advisory public vote on X, giving the community a voice in the decision.

BNC stock  rose as much as 2.8% in midday trade on Tuesday, as the company began trading under its new name, BNB Standard. The gains came despite a weaker week for BNB, the token that makes up the company’s treasury. BNB fell about 5% over the past week.

On Stocktwits, the retail sentiment around BNC remained in the ‘bearish’ zone, while chatter around it stayed at ‘extremely low’ levels over the past day.

BNB Community Votes on CEA Industries’ New Name

Over five days, 5,799 votes were cast, with BNB Standard taking the largest share at roughly 47%, the company said. Community members also shared their reasoning in replies, which the board reviewed before approving the name.

“We wanted the people who know BNB best to help shape who we become,” Alex Odagiu, interim president of CEA Industries, said. “As far as we know, few listed companies have asked their community to help choose their name. We think more should. The reasoning in the replies was as valuable as the votes themselves.”

Ticker Stays The Same

For shareholders, little else changes. The name will be effective from Tuesday, but the common stock will trade on the Nasdaq (NDAQ) Capital Market under “BNC,” with warrants under “BNCWW” and “BNCWZ.”

Outstanding stock certificates remain valid, and the stock keeps the same CUSIP number, the company said. A brand refresh and new corporate logo arrived with the name.

Board Chair Carly E. Howard framed the change as recognition of what the company already is. “BNB Standard reflects what the Company has become,” she said. “It arrives alongside a strengthened Board and a continued focus on strong governance and disciplined execution for all of our stockholders.”
