In Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, a young man lured a 13-year-old girl and took her to the roof of Kashi Raj Apartment and raped her. After the incident, he killed the girl and fled after dumping her body in the tank on the roof. On receiving information about the incident, the police reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem.

Murder revealed during interrogation
The police arrested the accused Ashish and questioned him. Ashish alias Golu told the police that the girl lives in my neighborhood, I used to talk to her often. On the evening of June 26, I was talking to her, then I coaxed her to come with me, so she went to tell at home and after some time she came out and went towards A block, on whose rooftop I had called her to meet. I also followed her to the rooftop and started forcing myself on her.
Despite her resistance, I tried to force myself on her, due to which she fainted. She was not breathing, due to which I got very scared and I fled from there after throwing her body in the water tank kept in front with the intention of hiding it. The joint police team of Varanasi’s Cantt police station and Crime Branch Commissionerate arrested the cunning accused Ashish alias Golu and sent him to jail, revealing the death of the minor girl who was missing since June 26.
