New Delhi [India], November 2 (Desk): BJP National spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla on Saturday hit out at National Conference-Congress alliance in Jammu and Kashmir hours after Farooq Abdullah demanded an investigation in the Budgam terror attack.
He also termed the statement of former J&K Chief Minister very “unfortunate” and said that some people are doing poltics and blame the Indian forces.
“It is very unfortunate that on an issue as sensitive as this, rather than put nation first, some people are doing politics first, family first and votebank first. It doesnot befit Farooq Abdullah inorder to shift his responsibility or inorder to give a cover fire to the sponsors of terrorism, that they blame the Indian forces and Indian agencies, “Poonawalla told Desk.
The BJP leader also alleged that Congress gave clean chit to Pakistan and sponsors of terrorism in the Mumbai terror attacks.
“But it seems to become a habit for the Congress and the ecosystem which is in power in Jammu and Kashmir because we have seen that the Congress gave a clean chit to Pakistan and the sponsors of terrorism in the 26/11 case. Now the same modus operandi has been used…,” he added.
Earlier today, NC President Farooq Abdullah demanded an investigation in the Budgam terror attack and said that he has a doubt that is it done by the people who were trying to destabilise the government in Jammu and Kashmir.
“It should be investigated. How is it that the government has come and this is happening? I have a doubt that is it done by the people who were trying to destabilise the government…If they (terrorists) are caught then we will get to know who is doing this. They should not be killed, they should be caught and asked who is behind them…We should check if there is an agency who is trying to destabilise Omar Abdullah,” Farooq Abdullah told Desk.
Two terrorists were killed by security forces during an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Saturday, officials said.
The encounter broke out after security forces initiated an anti-terrorist operation in the Halkan Gali area.
“Based on specific input, a Joint Operation was launched by Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and Srinagar Sector CRPF in gen area Halkan Gali, Anantnag. On 02 Nov 2024, suspicious movement near Halkan Gali was observed and challenged by vigilant troops, as a result, terrorists opened indiscriminate fire on own column. Own troops effectively retaliated, resulting in elimination of two terrorists. Operation is in progress,” Chinar Corps, Indian Army posted on X. (Desk)
