BJP’s new office-bearers, led by Nitin Nabin, met PM Modi. The party condemned Congress over ‘Vande Mataram’ and announced the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ campaign to mark 25 years of PM Modi’s public life.
The meeting of the BJP’s newly appointed national office-bearers team with Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded at the party headquarters in the national capital on Saturday. The meeting assumed significance as it was the first national office-bearers meeting following the party’s organisational overhaul and the formation of a new team under BJP president Nitin Nabin.
BJP condemns Congress over ‘Vande Mataram’
During the meeting, the BJP passed a resolution condemning the Congress Working Committee’s decision to sing only the first two stanzas of ‘Vande Mataram’. The Congress, meanwhile, accused the BJP of using nationalism to divert attention from its “failures”.
The party said ‘Vande Mataram’ is India’s National Song and described it as an expression of reverence for Bharat Mata, a symbol of the freedom struggle and an embodiment of the country’s national consciousness. The BJP announced that it would undertake a nationwide campaign to spread awareness about the history and significance of the National Song.
‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ announced
The BJP also announced the launch of the nationwide ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ from September 17 to October 17 to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years of public life.
BJP National General Secretary Vinod Tawde, while addressing the media, shared details of the first National Office Bearers meeting held after the formation of the party’s new team under Nitin Nabin, along with the workshop organised on the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’.
According to the party’s press note, Tawde said the campaign will focus on taking forward the spirit of service demonstrated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his 25 years in public life and connecting it with people across the country. Under the campaign, various service activities, programmes to connect beneficiaries with government schemes and initiatives aimed at involving youth in service and innovation will be organised.
PM Modi interacts with new team
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also attended the organisational meeting and interacted with party members.
“Organisational meetings are all about new ideas and perspectives aimed at strengthening the Party and deepening connect with the people. Great interaction with fellow Party colleagues and the new organisational team!” PM Modi said in a post on X. (ANI)
