New Delhi : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday released the official list of its 11 candidates for the Rajya Sabha biennial and by-elections to be held in several states. The party’s Central Election Committee (CEC) has finalized these names to participate in the Upper House elections. Many big state level leaders, strong faces of the organization and prominent strategists are included in this list. The party wants to further strengthen the strength of its upper house with this step.

Names of these veteran leaders from MP, Rajasthan and Gujarat
- BJP has fielded Tai Tagak from Arunachal Pradesh. Whereas Rajubhai Shukla, Mukeshbhai Rathwa, Mansingh Parmar and Jitendra Meghjibhai Kanjariya have got tickets from Gujarat. Tarun Chugh and Rajneesh Aggarwal have been made candidates from Madhya Pradesh. A Sharda Devi from Manipur and Alka Gurjar and Satish Poonia from Rajasthan have been given a chance.
- The party has made Debashish Samantrai its candidate for the Rajya Sabha by-election to be held in Odisha.
Let us tell you that earlier, on June 3, the Election Commission had issued notification for biennial elections for 24 Rajya Sabha seats in 10 states.
Know how many seats in which state
- These include 4 seats each in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat, 3 seats each in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, 2 seats in Jharkhand and 1 seat each in Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur and Meghalaya. The process of filing nominations for these seats has started and its last date is June 8.
- Apart from this, notification was also issued for Rajya Sabha by-elections to be held on one seat each in Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Odisha.
