BJP President Nitin Nabin has challenged Rahul Gandhi and the opposition to a debate in Parliament on the NEET issue. He said that the government is ready for discussion, but the opposition is running away because this will expose their duplicity. Nabin even called Rahul a fugitive.
New Delhi [भारत]July 23 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Nitin Nabin on Thursday challenged Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and the opposition to come forward and discuss issues related to students and youth, including NEET exam, in Parliament. He alleged that if he participated in the debate, his ‘duplicity’ would be exposed.
Nabin’s comment came in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s post on setting up fast-track courts to ensure strict punishment to those involved in the paper leak. Speaking to reporters, Nabeen said, “The NDA government is fully prepared to discuss the future of students and youth at every level. However, Rahul Gandhi, Congress and the entire opposition are running away from the discussion because they know that if they come to the floor of the House to discuss it, their duplicity will be exposed in front of the public and the youth.”
He further said, “We issue an open challenge: Come, we are ready to discuss on the floor of Parliament on every issue, including NEET. Rahul Gandhi’s political image has been that of a fugitive. BJP MPs and the NDA government are ready to discuss every issue and answer every question.”
‘Rahul and his family will not come forward for discussion’
The BJP chief further alleged that Rahul Gandhi and the Congress will not come forward for discussions as they have a “long history of 50-60 years of deceiving, inciting and misleading the youth”.
Nabeen said, “But I know that Rahul Gandhi and his clan will never come forward for discussion because they have a 50-60 year long history of deceiving, provoking and misleading the youth. Today, the BJP and the NDA government have given a positive direction to the future of the youth.”
He also accused the opposition of seeing the youth only as “stone pelters” and said the NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to creating a bright future for the youth.
“They (the opposition) see the youth only as stone-pelters. But the vision of the NDA government and Narendra Modi is that we are fully committed to building a bright future for the youth and securing their future,” he said.
Nabeen further said, “Strict action will be taken against those who appeared for the exam, and I am confident that today the youth of the country are completely with the Prime Minister.”
The BJP president reiterated that the government is ready to debate issues related to students in Parliament. He said, “The NDA government is fully prepared to discuss the future of students at every level; however, Rahul Gandhi, Congress and the entire opposition are running away from this discussion because they know that if they come for debate in the House, their double standards will be exposed in front of the students.”
‘Not a single culprit will be spared’
Furthermore, BJP MP Tarun Chugh said that the government is committed to protecting the interests of the youth of the country and stressed that strict action will be taken against those involved in the paper leak.
Chugh said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the government of the country are committed to the welfare of the youth of the country. These are our children, but some people are playing with the future of children to further their political interests.”
He further said, “Not even a single culprit involved in the paper leak case will be spared. Strict action will be taken and Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself has given this assurance. There will also be a fast-track court. Not a single culprit will be spared and the strictest action will be taken against the culprits.”
BJP MP Madan Rathore also welcomed the move and said that strict laws and speedy justice are needed to stop paper leaks. Rathore said, “It is the PM’s aim that no accused should be spared. This is an appropriate step to stop the paper leak. A strong law and speedy justice is needed.”
Opposition’s demonstration in Parliament, BJP’s counter-protest
Meanwhile, groups of MPs from NDA and India Bloc were face to face at Makar Dwar. Opposition parties protested demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. BJP counter-protest against the opposition. BJP MP Arun Singh snatched the banner demanding resignation of the Education Minister from the hands of CPI(M) MP John Brittas. (ANI)
