Bikes And Scooters Launching In January 2024!

January 2024 is set to be exciting for enthusiasts of both petrol-powered two-wheelers and EVs!

2024 is set to kick off with a bang, with many anticipated launches coming our way in the first month of the year itself.

Here is a list of all the bikes and scooters that are expected to hit the market in January:

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650

Royal Enfield’s 650cc bobber, the Shotgun 650, is set to be launched in January 2024. The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 is based on the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 and shares the same 648cc air-cooled twin-cylinder engine that delivers 47PS and 52.3Nm. That said, it comes with a different design, complete with a single-seat setup with a provision to install a pillion seat as well. We expect the bobber to be priced at around 3.5 lakh (ex-showroom). Honda NX500

The Honda NX500 will be the successor to the outgoing CB500X. Boasting a sleek new design, the NX500 weighs 3kg lighter at 196kg, one of the reasons being its 5-spoked cast aluminium wheels. The motorcycle shares the 471cc parallel-twin engine from the CB500 Hornet that produces 47.5PS and 43Nm. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch. The bike comes with a fresh 5-inch TFT instrument console with smartphone connectivity and also gets switchable traction control.

The NX500 will be sold only at Honda’s Bigwing dealerships. We expect the adventure bike to be priced at around Rs 6.5 lakh (ex-showroom). The NX500 is set to launch in late January or early February of 2024 with the deliveries expected to commence in March.

Ather 450 Apex

Ather Energy’s quickest and most powerful electric scooter yet, the Ather 450 Apex is making its debut in January 2024. The e-scooter will feature transparent body panels and the brand’s fastest Warp+ mode. It could even get multi-level regenerative braking.

Bookings have already started at a base price of Rs 2,500 and Ather promises to start the deliveries by March 2024.

Launches/ Unveils At Hero World 2023 Event

Hero MotoCorp is set to unveil and perhaps launch various motorcycles and scooters in India at its Hero World 2023 event, likely to happen in January. Let’s have a look at what Hero has in store for us:

Hero Xpulse 210

Hero MotoCorp is expected to reveal an updated Xpulse variant with a bigger engine, and better performance. The upcoming adventure bike has also been . The upcoming Hero Xpulse 210 will borrow its engine from the new Karizma XMR. The new 210cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine delivers 25.5PS and 20.4Nm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox in the faired bike. With a more powerful and capable engine, the upcoming Xpulse will be even more desirable than before, and more importantly, more capable on the highways.

Hero Xtreme 210R

The Hero Xtreme 160R will soon get a bigger and more powerful sibling. Just like the new Karizma XMR’s engine will be shared by the upcoming Xpulse 210, the Xtreme is also going to be updated with the new 210cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine producing 25.5PS and 20.4Nm. Hero Xtreme 210R will be Hero’s most powerful naked sport bike and compete with TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, Bajaj Pulsar NS200 and KTM 200 Duke.

Naked bikes are not only sporty but also usable for both commutes and spirited rides thanks to their relatively comfier ergonomics. So launching one in this genre will be a natural progression for Hero as far as the Karizma platform is concerned. This should also go a long way in garnering a wider audience.

Hero Xtreme 125R

After the success of the Xtreme 160R, Hero MotoCorp seems set to introduce a more compact model, based on the Glamour 125, possibly named the Hero Xtreme 125R. The 125cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine on the Glamour delivers 10.8PS and 10.6Nm. The Xtreme 125R was previously and we expect its launch in January 2024. This sporty 125cc bike will compete against the TVS Raider 125 and Bajaj Pulsar NS125. The Xtreme 125R is likely to be priced at around Rs 95,000 (ex-showroom).

Hero Xoom 125R

Hero MotoCorp is expected to showcase the more powerful and sportier version of the Xoom 110 scooter, named the Xoom 125R. Now that the Hero Maestro Edge 125 has been discontinued (it was also never really an out-an-out performance scooter in the segment), the Xoom 125R will step in to address this gap in the lineup. Hero Xoom 160

The Xoom 160 will go head-to-head with competitors like the Aprilia SR160 and Yamaha Aerox 155.
