Patna Junction will be expanded
Giving a big boost to the railway development of Bihar, the Central Government has allocated a record budget of more than Rs 10,000 crore for the state in the current financial year. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav gave this information during his visit to Bihar on Friday. He said that work is being done at a rapid pace on many important projects to strengthen the railway network in the state and provide better facilities to the passengers.
According to the Railway Minister, at present railway projects costing about Rs 1.15 lakh crore are going on in various stages in Bihar. With the completion of these projects, there will be a major improvement in rail connectivity and transportation facilities in the state.
New express train will run between Chhapra-Delhi
During Bihar tour, Ashwini Vaishnav also announced to run a new express train between Chhapra and Delhi. It is believed that this train will facilitate lakhs of passengers of Bihar to reach the capital Delhi. Especially employed people, students and businessmen will benefit from it.
The Railway Minister said that the government is continuously starting new trains on those routes where the number of passengers is high and the need for additional rail services is being felt.
Bihar’s role is increasing in railway construction.
Ashwini Vaishnav said that Bihar is now not only a consumer of railway services but is also becoming an important center of railway construction. He told that the engines made in the locomotive factory located in Marhaura, Bihar are being sent to foreign countries.
He said that today the 51st locomotive engine from Marhaura plant will be exported to an African country. This is a matter of pride for Bihar and the country, because Indian technology and manufacturing capability is getting recognized at the global level.
Patna Junction and Fatuha station will be expanded
The Railway Minister said that in view of the increasing number of passengers, five new platforms are being built at Patna Junction. This will improve the operation of trains and passenger facilities. Apart from this, Fatuha railway station located near Patna is also being modernized.
The government believes that this big investment in railway infrastructure will play an important role in Bihar’s economic development, employment generation and better connectivity.
