While the procession was passing near the mosque here, people of a particular community started pelting stones. The people participating in the procession also responded to this. According to local people, this is not the first time of dispute during Vivah Panchami procession in Darbhanga. There have been several incidents of stone pelting in religious processions this year. According to the police, events have been organized on the occasion of Vivah Panchami at Ram Janaki Temple in Darbhanga Nagar Kotwali area for the last 30 years. A procession is also taken out here on this occasion. However, there had never been any uproar before. In this sequence, the procession of Lord Ram was being taken out on Friday.

Chaos as soon as the procession reached the mosque

As soon as the procession reached Pathantoli Mosque, people of a particular community started creating ruckus by raising slogans. Within no time these people started pelting stones. In response to this, the people participating in the procession also came face to face. Three people have suffered serious injuries in this clash. He has been taken to the hospital. As soon as the procession reached the Soochna Masjid, people from other communities pelted stones at it. People of Hindu community also responded to this.

This type of incident has happened before too

Three people from both sides have been injured in mutual stone pelting. As soon as the information was received, SP City and SDM Sadar reached the spot with full force and dispersed the rioters with batons. At present there is peace at the spot, but a situation of tension remains. Earlier in the month of January, there was a ruckus during the procession of Shri Ram in Bhapura village of Singhwada police station area. At that time also people of a particular community had pelted stones at the procession. According to SDM Vikas Kumar, the tableau always used to return from near the mosque. This time there has been some controversy here.
