Bihar government is encouraging the players, honored those who performed better in National and International

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Bihar government is continuously progressing in the field of sports. To promote sports in the state, sports facilities are being developed as per international standards. This effort of the government is helping the young players of Bihar to make a career in sports along with studies, so that the youth of Bihar can also bring glory to the state at the international level.

In the Bihar State Sports Honor Ceremony organized every year, players and their coaches who have performed excellently at international, national and local levels are honored. In this ceremony, players are given citation and prize money. Along with this, individuals who have made significant contributions to the development of sports are also honoured.

The event is organized every year

It is being organized this year also. But this time the state government has increased the honorarium to Rs 5 crore, so that people can get more inspiration in sports. Javelin throw coach Ashutosh of Jamui has been honored this year. Ashutosh has coached many promising athletes in collaboration with the State Sports Authority and has himself won gold medals at the national level.

These players were honored

Virendra Yadav, who won gold at the national level in javelin throw, and Ashish Kumar, who won gold medal in throw throw, were also honored in this ceremony. Bihar has become the first state to honor Indian hockey’s best goalkeeper Sreejesh after winning a medal in the Olympics, which has boosted the morale of the players here. A total of 615 players from 33 sports, 21 coaches, four sports assistants and four sports officials have been honored in the Bihar Sports Honor Ceremony. During this period, honorarium amounting to about Rs 7.5 crore was distributed.

He received the honor in the year 2023

Last year in 2023, a total of 411 players including 11 coaches were honored in this ceremony. At present, honor money worth Rs 15.5 crore has been distributed to 1272 players. The state government is fully committed to promoting sports and is making positive efforts for the progress of the players keeping in mind their success. To further promote the sport, players are being given jobs under the Bring Medal-Get Job scheme of the state government. Players are getting financial assistance from this scheme
