Rhiya Ahir On Criticism Over Bigg Boss 20 Participation

During a freewheeling conversation with us,  said criticism will follow with anything one does. The actress believes being a woman, one is criticised all their lives. According to her, if a woman in a room full of men and if she bends to pick something up, they will look at her as if she has done something wrong.

“And I keep saying this: when Savitribai Phule was fighting in a way for women’s education, she was pelted stones at. It has been said that she would carry an extra saree and go to the school and change because she was thrown cow dung at,” she said.

The Bigg Boss 20 contestant added, “So, I’m not comparing myself to her. The whole reason that I can sit here and talk to you in this manner is only possible because of what she did and what she gave from her life. Likewise for other freedom fighters, who fought for social issues in our will, for the independence of an individual as well, right?”

Hence, when people criticised Rhiya by saying that she did it for fame and other reasons, she initially wondered what she did to them. “Did I hurt someone? Did I insult someone? Did I disrespect someone? Till now, I haven’t. So, for me, whatever they say is baseless. And second, when people say, in the comment section, actually, I see my well-wishers going and standing up for me already before I could even look at it.”

Rhiya Ahir Reacts To Scrutiny

Continuing the chat, the actress revealed her sisters and other people sent screenshots of those who stood up for her on social media. “And if someone is like, “Oh, why is she doing this? She did this for fame.” And then the other person goes like, ” Vo zindagi bar van hi rokte rahe kya?” Rhiya clarified that she is not an activist. And whatever she did in the student protests, wasn’t done on purpose or for being heroic.

Bigg Boss 20’s Rhiya Ahir

“It’s something that just happened to me. I did theatre for 13 years of my life. I started when I was four-and-a-half years old. And I’ve been modelling for six years now. That day when I was Rhiya Ahir is when people loved me and when people liked what I did. They are appreciating what I did. They are encouraging each other to just stand up for the wrong and against the injustice,” the   contestant added.

On a concluding note, Rhiya stated that when two of three people criticise her, it doesn’t resonate with her. It is because they’re just empty words for them until one puts meaning into them.
