Big news of July 2 morning: South-west monsoon officially arrived in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh on Wednesday. With the arrival of monsoon, cloud bursts and sudden floods worsened the situation in many areas of Jammu and Kashmir including Doda, Kishtwar, Bandipora. Traffic came to a standstill on many roads, affecting connectivity to some areas. The administration carried out relief and rescue operations and evacuated the affected people to safe places. At present, no loss of life or property has been reported. Dr. Mukhtyar Ahmed, Director of Meteorological Center Srinagar, has confirmed the entry of monsoon in both the Union Territories.
