The capacity of Delhi’s Bawana Water Treatment Plant has been increased from 20 MGD to 22 MGD. This will purify 2 MGD of excess water every day and more than 35 thousand people will get the benefit of clean and uninterrupted drinking water.
With the increasing population in the capital Delhi, the demand for clean and adequate drinking water is also continuously increasing. The capacity of Bawana Water Treatment Plant has been increased from 20 MGD (million gallons per day) to 22 MGD, directly benefiting thousands of families.
The government says that the purpose of this capacity increase is to provide clean, safe and uninterrupted drinking water to the citizens. After the implementation of the new system, the water supply situation in Bawana and surrounding areas is expected to improve further.
2 MGD extra water will be treated every day
After increasing the capacity, now 2 MGD additional water can be treated in the plant every day. This means that clean and usable drinking water will be produced in greater quantities than ever before, which will be delivered directly to consumers. This increase in water purification capacity will also prove helpful in meeting the increasing demand in the future.
