In these programs, couples from different religions and communities are married together, which sends the message of brotherhood and equality to the society. Experts believe that such events help in reducing social distance and increasing self-confidence among weaker sections.
Start of new life with respect
Under the scheme, apart from financial assistance, the government also provides essential items for household use to newly married couples. This reduces the financial pressure that poor families have to face immediately after marriage. Many families have called it a big relief for respectable marriage of their daughters. People’s interest towards this scheme is continuously increasing in both rural and urban areas.
Yogi government told development as priority
Yogi government is continuously trying to give the message that the basis of development schemes in the state is not on caste or religion, but on eligibility and need. The government says that the model of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” will be successful only when every section of the society gets equal benefits of the schemes. Social Welfare Department officials said that the government is committed to the upliftment of every section and strengthening the social balance.
Is the picture of poor families changing?
In a big state like Uttar Pradesh, where lakhs of families struggle with financial crisis, such schemes directly impact the social and economic level. If the schemes continue to operate in a transparent and effective manner, it can reduce the major marriage-related concerns of poor families to a great extent. Chief Minister Group Marriage Scheme is no longer just a government scheme but is also becoming a hope for those families who used to feel insecure about the marriage of their daughters for a long time.
