Before next year’s Lok Sabha elections, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati declared her nephew Akash Anand as the party’s successor during an important party meeting on Sunday. Earlier, Mayawati had handed over the responsibility of the party to her nephew Akash Anand in the recently held assembly elections. However, the party’s performance in the elections was not as expected.
Former Chief Minister Mayawati announced to give big responsibility to Akash Anand in an important meeting with the national leaders of the party in Lucknow. Declaring Akash as his successor, he announced to hand over the responsibility of the entire country except Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand to Akash Anand.
Akash is the son of younger brother Anand.
Akash is the son of Anand Kumar, younger brother of BSP chief Mayawati. Akash has studied MBA from a big college in London. About six years ago, after the crushing defeat in the 2017 assembly elections, Mayawati had launched Akash in a rally in Saharanpur.
It is believed that after the defeat in the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in the last few years, Mayawati is focusing on taking the second generation forward. In this sequence, Mayawati started promoting her nephew Akash Anand in politics. Mayawati gave him many important posts in the party. Even Akash was made in-charge in election states.
Told to start preparing for elections- Udayveer Singh
Akash Anand, who rose rapidly from within the party, had started the journey before the assembly elections in Rajasthan. Akash started a journey of three and a half thousand kilometers in the name of ‘Sarvajan Hitaya, Sarvajan Sukhaay Sankalp Yatra’. This journey was also named ‘Bahujan Adhikar Yatra’.
