Deputy Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh gave instructions to accelerate development and rehabilitation in Naxal areas. 50 Naxal-free villages will get Rs 1 crore each, victims will get housing and rehabilitated people will get incentives. There will be a review of the release of accused in non-serious cases.
Raipur, July 11, 2026/ Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, in the review meeting of the Police Department held at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan, gave instructions to accelerate relief, rehabilitation and development works in Naxal affected areas. He said that necessary action should be taken in the process of release of those accused detained in jail in Naxal cases, against whom there are no cases of serious loss of life, after a legal review, necessary action should be taken in the process of release, for which with the help of the Law Department, a team of prosecution and lawyers will be formed and the withdrawal of the case will be discussed. Along with this, its progress will be reviewed every week in the meeting related to the case in the office of the District Superintendent of Police. He said that in such Naxal cases in which there has been no loss of life, it is necessary to release the Naxal accused detained in jail.
Villages most affected by Naxalism will get Rs 1 crore
For the rapid development of highly Naxal affected areas, the government will pass a Naxal free resolution and development works worth Rs 1 crore each will be approved in such villages, which will provide livelihood to the villagers and will also lead to the development of the villages. Presently 50 villages have been identified for this. Which includes 20 villages of Sukma, 20 of Bijapur and 10 of Narayanpur.
Tiranga Yatra in all Naxal free villages by 15th August
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sharma directed that the tricolor will be hoisted in all the Naxal-free villages on August 15, 2026, so that the message of national unity, trust and public participation will reach every village.
Victims and rehabilitated families get benefits of housing scheme
In the meeting, the Deputy Chief Minister directed that all Naxal victims and rehabilitated families should be provided housing under the special provisions of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. In areas where major Naxalite incidents have taken place, community memorials should also be constructed so that the memories of the martyrs and victims can be honoured. He took information about district-wise cases of soldiers martyred and civilians killed in Naxalite incidents, assistance provided to their families and pending cases. He said that all the prescribed facilities of the government should be provided to the families of the martyrs on time and there should not be any delay at any level.
The incentive amount declared on the rehabilitated people will be paid within a month.
Following the rehabilitation policy, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sharma directed to ensure payment of the announced incentive amount to the rehabilitated youth within the next one month. Also asked to enter information in the dashboard prepared for the facilities to be provided to Naxal victims and rehabilitated people. He directed to form an inter-state committee to look into the recovery of weapons looted by Maoists and to ensure that no weapon is left behind in the forest.
Principal Secretary Ms. Niharika Singh Barik, Secretary Mrs. Neha Champawat, ADG Mr. Vivekananda Sinha along with senior officials of Home Department, Police Department and concerned districts were present in the meeting.
