What is the strategy of Yogi government?
Yogi government is continuously trying to convey the message that farmers should get the benefit of minimum support price directly and transparency should be maintained in the procurement process. Under this strategy, emphasis was laid on online registration, digital payment and expansion of purchase centers. The government believes that this has made it easier for farmers to sell their crops.
According to political experts, in a big agricultural state like Uttar Pradesh, schemes related to farmers are always important from both political and economic point of view. In such a situation, it is considered important for the government to make the procurement system look effective.
Why are these figures important for farmers?
The biggest challenge for farmers is often timely payment and fair prices. If the government procurement system remains strong, farmers can get some relief from market uncertainty. Experts say that just increasing purchases is not enough, but it is also important that payments are made on time and the procurement process remains easy. The latest figures of the Uttar Pradesh government indicate that the state government wants to keep the agricultural procurement system as its priority in the coming times.
