Leadership is changing in major centers of ISRO. Dr. C.H.V. Narasimha Rao will be the new director of Ahmedabad SAC from August 1. He will replace Soumya Sarkar. You. R. Rao Center chief M. Shankaran is also retiring this month.
New Delhi: A period of change is going on in big positions in the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). Space Applications Center (SAC) of Ahmedabad has got a new director. Dr. C.H.V. Narasimha Rao will take charge of this post on 1st August. He is currently working as Associate Director of Research and Development (R&D) wing in SAC. Current director Soumya Sarkar is retiring on July 31, in whose place Rao has been given this responsibility.
Along with this, Bengaluru’s U. R. Rao Satellite Center head M. Shankaran is also going to retire at the end of this month. In such a situation, a kind of generational change is being seen in the major research centers of ISRO.
Meanwhile, discussions are also going on regarding the resignation of scientists from ISRO. Recently, Union Minister Jitendra Singh (who has independent charge of the Department of Science and Technology) had expressed his views on this. He had said that the resignations of scientists are happening due to administrative reasons and it is not a sign of any major problem. He made it clear that there is no scope for controversy regarding the resignation of scientists. This statement came after reports that ISRO has issued a new memo to retain talent after scientists associated with important missions like Gaganyaan left their jobs.
