AC Blast Fire Delhi: A painful accident shocked everyone on Sunday morning in Vivek Vihar area of the capital Delhi. At around 4 in the morning, a massive fire suddenly broke out in a four-storey residential building. Most of the people were in deep sleep at that time, due to which they did not even get a chance to recover. Within no time the fire started from the second floor and engulfed the third and fourth floors also.
14 fire engines, two hours of battle
As soon as information about the incident was received, 14 fire brigade vehicles reached the spot. The fire was so terrible that it took about two hours to extinguish it. During this time, the rescue team took help of balconies and narrow paths to rescue the people trapped in the building. Many people were lowered using ropes.

9 people died, many are fighting for their lives
At least 9 people died in this accident, while many others were injured. The injured were immediately admitted to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, where they are undergoing treatment. Police and forensic team have recovered all the bodies from the spot and started investigation.

Was AC blast the cause of the fire?
There has been no official confirmation yet on the cause of the fire, but local residents have suspected that the fire could have been caused by the bursting of an air conditioner (AC). More than a dozen people were rescued safely during the rescue operation, but some people are still feared missing. Local people say that some families living in the flats behind could not come out in time.
