BJP had set a target of winning all 28 seats and also campaigned vigorously, but it faced a big setback.
Strength to the ideology of Greater Tipraland?
It is being told that TIPRA Motha chief Pradyut Manikya Debbarma has recently started a new political initiative regarding ‘Greater Tipraland’. Many other leaders have also participated in this. Experts believe that a new type of politics is being tried in Tripura by raising tribal issues.
It is also being said that the results of this local election have once again shown that the hold of national parties is still weak in the tribal areas. Even today, local issues like language, land rights and identity remain dominant there.
What did CM Manik Saha say?
Reacting to these results, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha said, “We congratulate TIPRA Motha on the victory and humbly accept the public’s decision. We see this defeat as a learning opportunity.”
TIPRA Motha is also considering this victory as very important. The party has been raising the demand for ‘Greater Tipraland’ for a long time. In such a situation, this mandate can further strengthen their ideology.
