Big announcement of Anil Aggarwal’s company, preparations to make India self-reliant in oil and gas!

Anil Aggarwal

Towards making India self-reliant in oil and gas Anil Aggarwal’s company Vedanta Has set a big target. The company has said that it wants to produce 5 lakh barrels of oil and gas every day in the coming time. The company believes that this will strengthen India’s energy security and reduce dependence on purchasing oil and gas from abroad.

At present, India imports about 90% of its crude oil and gas requirement from abroad. This means that if oil prices increase in the international market or there is any interruption in supply, it has a direct impact on India’s economy and the common people.

India has large reserves of oil and gas

Vedanta says that India has large reserves of oil and gas. According to the company, there is a potential of hydrocarbon resources equal to about 300 billion barrels in the country. If these resources are used properly, India can meet a large part of its energy needs on its own.

The company said that its Vedanta Oil and Gas Carin unit is working rapidly on finding new oil and gas reserves and producing more from old fields with the help of modern technologies. For this, advanced technology and better oil recovery techniques will be used.

What did Anil Aggarwal say?

Vedanta Chairman Anil Agarwal said that for India to become self-reliant in energy matters is not just a dream but is very important economically. He says that the more oil and gas produced in the country, the less it will have to import. This will save foreign exchange, strengthen the economy and the country will be able to face global crises in a better way. He also said that India has no shortage of natural resources. Besides, a large number of skilled engineers, scientists and technical experts are also present in the country, who can play an important role in achieving this goal.

no discovery made in deep sea

According to Vedanta, there are many areas of India where oil and gas have not been fully explored yet. There are still huge opportunities, especially in the deep sea and ultra-deep sea areas. The government has also taken steps in this direction. Under the National Deep Water Exploration Mission (Samudra Manthan), many such marine areas have been opened for exploration and production, where earlier work was not allowed. The government aims to attract investment of about $500 billion in the energy sector by the end of this decade.

Vedanta working here

Vedanta believes that to make India energy self-reliant in the long run, the government, industry, entrepreneurs and companies developing new technologies will have to work together. At present Vedanta Oil & Gas has 44 onshore and offshore blocks in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Assam and Andhra Pradesh. These blocks are spread over an area of about 47,000 square kilometers, where exploration and production of both conventional and modern oil and gas resources is being done.
