Big announcement from Yogi government! Now electricity will not be cut for 30 days, even if the bill is minus. Yogi Governments Big Relief No Power Disconnection For 30 Days For 1kw Consumers Despite Negative Balance

UP Electricity Bill Relief 2026: Yogi government has given big relief to electricity consumers. Now domestic connections up to 1 KW will not be disconnected for 30 days, even if the balance is negative. 2 KW consumers will also get relief up to Rs 200 and the facility of 5 SMS alerts.

Amidst the scorching heat, the Uttar Pradesh government has taken a decision to provide great relief to electricity consumers. Now, consumers with domestic electricity connection up to 1 KW will not have their connection disconnected for 30 days even if their balance is negative. This means that even if there is a delay in bill payment, the power supply will not be stopped immediately.

This decision taken under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is being considered as a relief news for millions of small domestic consumers. Especially in this summer season, when the need for electricity is the highest, then this decision can prove to be very important for the common people.

2 KW consumers also got relief

Energy Minister Arvind Kumar Sharma said that not only 1 kilowatt, but also consumers with connections up to 2 kilowatts have been given relief. Even if the bill of 2 kW consumers goes down to minus Rs 200, their connection will not be disconnected. With this, small and medium domestic consumers will be saved from the problem of sudden power cuts. The government says that consumer interest is paramount and it would not be appropriate to disconnect anyone’s connection without giving adequate information.

It is mandatory to send 5 SMS before disconnecting the connection

Under the new system, the electricity department will have to send 5 mandatory SMS to the consumer before disconnecting the connection. This 5-tier SMS notification system has been implemented so that the consumer can pay his outstanding bill on time and does not face any inconvenience. The Energy Minister has given clear instructions that under no circumstances will the power connection be disconnected before the complete cycle of one month is completed. This will also increase transparency and strengthen consumer confidence.

Focus on uninterrupted power supply in extreme heat

In view of the increasing heat in the state, the government has also issued strict instructions regarding electricity supply. Energy Minister A.K. Sharma has instructed officials of all the districts to speed up maintenance work, increase transformer capacity and rectify faults at the local level. He said that there will be no power crisis in any district this summer and uninterrupted supply will be ensured.

30 lakh new electricity poles were installed

The government has claimed that work has been done on a large scale to strengthen the power system in the state. So far, about 30 lakh new electric poles have been installed. Along with this, the capacity of transformers has also been significantly improved, thereby making better supply possible in both rural and urban areas. The Energy Minister said that Uttar Pradesh has today emerged as the leading state supplying maximum electricity in the entire country.

Emphasis on both consumer relief and system reforms

This decision of the government is not limited to just providing relief, but it is also being considered a big step towards making the power system more humane and accountable. Sudden power cut during summer season becomes a big problem for common families. In such a situation, decisions like 30 days relief, SMS alerts and not disconnecting connections on small dues will directly provide relief to the general public. It is clear that the Yogi government is trying to balance both relief and arrangements for electricity consumers. Its impact will be visible on lakhs of families in the coming days.
