In Punjab, the police arrested 112 drug smugglers by raiding 538 places under the anti -narcotics campaign. Punjab Police said on Monday that with this, the total number of arrests made during the campaign has reached 1,436 in just 10 days.
In the raid conducted today, 1.8 kg of heroin, 200 grams of opium, 15 kg of poppy, 3,874 drugs and injections and Rs 1.2 lakh cash were recovered from the possession of drugs smugglers arrested.
220 police teams raided
This campaign was conducted on the instructions of Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav. Special DGP Arpit Shukla said that more than 220 police teams with more than 1,600 policemen raided the entire state and investigated 610 suspects during the day -long campaign.
Great success against drugs
Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab unit president and cabinet minister Aman Arora said that the AAP government has achieved unprecedented success in its campaign against drug addiction in the last 10 days. He said that under the campaign against drugs, the police have registered 988 FIRs under Narcotic Drugs and NDPS.
Campaign started against drugs
Minister Harpal Singh Cheema had said on Sunday that on 25 February, war was started against the war nashan (war against drugs). He said that extraordinary results of this campaign have come out. Efforts for awareness
Minister Harpal Singh Cheema mentioned the Aam Aadmi Party government’s commitment to eliminate the problem of drugs from Punjab. He has also told that- a comprehensive awareness campaign is also being conducted, in which citizens are being actively motivated to contribute to the construction of drug-free and rich Punjab.
