Comedian and host Bharti Singh and her husband, writer-producer and host Haarsh Limbachiyaa are celebrating Janmashtami with double the joy this year as they mark the festival with their two sons, Gola and Kaju.
The couple, who host Indian Game Show with Bharti and Harssh, spoke about their family celebrations, their love for Janmashtami and how welcoming their second son has made the occasion even more special.
Bharti said Janmashtami has always been among the happiest festivals for her as it brings together excitement, devotion and family time.
“For me, Janmashtami has always been one of the happiest festivals because it fills the house with so much excitement, devotion and family time. Ever since Gola was born, I wait for this day to dress him up as little Krishna, and now with Kaju, my heart feels twice as full,” she said.
“Watching my two little Krishnas smile, play and celebrate together is a memory I want to cherish forever,” she added.
Bharti said the family also organises its own small Dahi Handi celebration at home, with everyone joining in enthusiastically. She believes festivals become more meaningful when children experience them with their families and learn the stories and values associated with them.
She said bringing the Janmashtami spirit to Indian Game Show with Bharti and Harssh through a special celebration made the occasion even more memorable.
Haarsh also stressed the importance of introducing children to Indian festivals and traditions from an early age.
“Janmashtami is one of those festivals that brings so much joy, energy and warmth into the home. I feel it is important that our children grow up knowing about all our festivals and understanding the beautiful traditions behind them, rather than just celebrating them as occasions,” he said.
He said the family brings home a handi, organises its own Dahi Handi celebration and dresses Gola as Lord Krishna before the handi is broken. With Kaju now part of the celebrations, he said the family has “two little Bal Krishnas” at home.
Haarsh added that the festive spirit has also extended to their professional life, with Indian Game Show with Bharti and Harssh featuring a special Janmashtami-themed game.
“Playing it together was so much fun, and it made the celebration even more exciting,” he said.
The couple married in 2017 and welcomed their first son, Laksh, fondly known as Gola, on April 3, 2022. Their second son, Yashveer, was born on December 19, 2025. While the couple has revealed his name as Yashveer, he continues to be affectionately called Kaju at home.
Haarsh said these are the traditions and memories he wants his children to carry forward, describing festivals as occasions that bring families together and help pass culture and stories to the next generation.
