Bengaluru IPL Traffic Advisory Lists No Parking Roads And Designated Parking Spots Near Chinnaswamy

If you are heading towards M Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 15, expect tighter traffic rules and stricter parking checks. The Bengaluru Traffic Police has rolled out a detailed IPL match traffic advisory, focusing on keeping roads clear during peak evening hours.

The message is simple don’t rely on street parking around the stadium.

No Parking On These Roads

Several central Bengaluru stretches have been marked as complete no-parking zones for match day. This includes:

Queens Road, MG Road, Link Road, Raj Bhavan Road, T Chowdaiah Road, Race Course Road, Central Street and Cubbon Road.

St Mark’s Road, Museum Road, Kasturba Road, Lavelle Road and Vittal Mallya Road are also off-limits. Parking inside Cubbon Park is fully banned.

Where You Can Park Instead

To handle the crowd, police have opened up multiple designated parking spots across the city. Key options include St Joseph’s school grounds, Freedom Park multi-level parking, and commercial hubs like Garuda Mall and UB City.

Additional capacity is available at Shivajinagar Bus Stand (first floor) and Sree Kanteerava Stadium, which are expected to absorb most of the vehicle load.

Entry Gates Locked To Plan

Access to the stadium will be regulated through select gates on Cubbon Road, Link Road and Queens Road. Separate exit gates have been planned to avoid crowd pile-up after the match.

Gate E-10 on Queens Road is strictly reserved for players, officials and VIPs.

Cabs, Autos And Metro Plan

For app-based cabs and autos, pick-up and drop points have been fixed at BRV Ground and Manekshaw Parade Ground.

The bigger push, however, is towards public transport. Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation has lined up special services, while Namma Metro will run late-night trains and offer QR-based travel options.

What You Should Keep In Mind

Expect heavy traffic, especially around central Bengaluru. If you are driving, plan parking in advance. If not, metro and buses are clearly the easier option this time.

The advisory is clear follow parking rules, stick to designated gates, and avoid restricted roads if you want a smoother match-day experience.
