Police claim that both of them had decided to die together, but the lover just pretended to drink poison and then strangulated the girl to death. The girl had recently come to know that her lover was married and the father of a child.

Who was Bhavani?
Bhavani, originally from Magadi, came to Bengaluru two years ago in search of work. She worked as a cashier in a mobile shop and lived alone in a rented house. Recently her parents talked about her marriage. Bhavani agreed to this relationship and returned back to Bengaluru. But the news of his death just two days after his return shocked the family and neighbours.

Police investigation revealed that Bhavani was in a relationship with an auto driver. Both of them were living together for some time and the boy had repeatedly promised to marry her. But later Bhavani came to know that he was already married and had a son. She was devastated after knowing this truth. She knew that her family would never allow her to take a second wife. Seeing no option, she said yes to the relationship suggested by her parents. But according to the police, she was torn between her family and her relationship.
What do the police suspect?
The auto driver later came to Bhavani’s house and allegedly convinced her to die with him, investigators said. Both of them decided to commit suicide by drinking poison. Police allege that Bhavani drank poison, but the boy drank only a small amount of poison and spilled the rest around his mouth, so that it seemed as if he had also drank poison. Investigators also allege that he later changed his mind after thinking about his wife and young son. To ensure that Bhavani died, he allegedly strangled her. The boy survived and is currently undergoing treatment in the hospital, while the police are investigating the matter.
