Bengal Teacher Recruitment Scam: Rahul Gandhi wrote a letter to President Draupadi Murmu, said- those who did not do wrong should be justice to them

Former Congress president and Leader of Lok Sabha Opposition Rahul Gandhi has written a letter to President Draupadi Murmu regarding the teacher recruitment scam in West Bengal. In the letter, the Congress leader has demanded intervention from the President. Expressing deep concern over the situation, Rahul has appealed to President Draupadi Murmu ji to intervene. He has urged the President to ask the state government to take immediate steps on the matter, so that the selected teachers can get an opportunity to continue their jobs.

Rahul Gandhi wrote a letter and requested the President in this regard to direct the government so that the matter can be resolved soon and the candidates who were selected with transparency and honesty in the entire process. He has said that this dispute between the state government and the judiciary can have a profound impact on teachers and education system. It is the demand of the hour that this sensitive issue should be resolved soon, so that qualified teachers can provide their services to the society and the education sector remains stable.

Threat to the future of thousands of teachers

In fact, the future of thousands of qualified teachers in West Bengal has become uncertain, because the court has canceled the teacher recruitment process done by the state government. After this decision, the jobs of the candidates who were selected in a proper and transparent manner are now in danger. Many candidates say that they had been preparing for the recruitment examination of teachers for years and were selected after hard work, but now their hard work and expectations have been destroyed.

Rahul Gandhi has said in the letter that I am writing this letter to you about thousands of qualified teachers of West Bengal, who have lost their jobs due to the cancellation of the teacher recruitment process by the judiciary. In this subject, a delegation met me from a teacher organization called Teacher-Teacher Rights Forum (IX-X) and appealed to you to intervene in particular. Rahul has also sent a copy of the demand of the organization.

First High Court and Supreme Court pronounced the verdict

The Kolkata High Court found serious irregularities in the teacher recruitment process and declared the entire recruitment process illegal. On 3 April, the Supreme Court justified the High Court’s decision. After this decision, there is no hope left for teachers and employees who have lost their jobs.

Both the High Court and the Supreme Court found that some candidates have been selected incorrectly. While any irregularity in the recruitment process cannot be denied and the culprits should be brought into the dock of justice, it is also clear that the teachers who were honestly selected in the entire process are extremely unjust to treat tainted teachers.

Teachers who were selected in a transparent manner were stable in their role after hard work and struggle for many years. Removing them suddenly does not only affect their future, but also adversely affect the quality of education system.

Rights of selected teachers should be returned in a proper and transparent manner

He said that therefore, I humble requests that you intervene in this matter with the West Bengal government using your post and ensure that the teachers who have been selected in a completely proper and transparent manner, get the opportunity to continue their jobs. This is a question of justice and it is very important that these teachers should be returned to their rights.

In the letter, Rahul further said that by interfering in this matter, these teachers will definitely get justice and they will be able to play their role in strengthening the state’s education system through their services.
