One such new case has come to light, in which a woman, pretending to be the wife of an IAS officer, has defrauded about 10 women of more than Rs 3 crore. The woman had slowly extorted money from the victimized women citing her compulsion. The police have registered a complaint against the woman and started investigating the matter.

Rashmi used to befriend the women of rich families by calling herself the wife of an IAS officer. Rashmi used to show her lifestyle as if it was raining money. Rashmi has formed a kitty group and cheated about 10 women one after the other of crores of rupees.
Had increased interaction in social function
The woman used to cheat her friends by telling false stories. She used to say that my husband beats me, I need some money, I have to pay children’s fees, I need some money and used to ask for money by promising to give more money from mutual funds. The victimized women say that Rashmi and her family had interacted with us at a social function. After gaining confidence, she started taking small loans. She used to ask for money citing problems.
FIR lodged in Indiranagar police station
The accused woman used to win trust by returning small loans. At the same time, later she used to ask for huge amount. The victim women allege that one day when they asked for money, Rashmi threatened them and lodged a complaint against them in the police station. After this, all the women together lodged an FIR against Rashmi in Indiranagar police station. At the same time, the victim women say that they have all the proof related to the transaction.
