A girl from a village in Keduboulia police station area of Basti district has demanded the arrest of the accused in the rape case. The girl has threatened to commit suicide if she is not arrested. The blame is on father-in-law Aliqamar and brother-in-law Altamas.

On June 11, on the complaint of the girl and on the instructions of the Superintendent of Police, Duboulia police registered a case under sections 85, 64, 115 (2) of BNS. But showed no interest in arresting the accused. Troubled by the threats and insults of the accused, the girl met the SP on June 24 and demanded justice and arrest of the accused. On talking to SO Duboulian, he told that the case has been transferred to Mahala police station.

After this, Avesh went to Delhi saying that he wanted to study and never returned. The girl became a mother at the age of 15. But his father did not maintain any relation with him and his daughter.
Even his and his daughter’s Aadhar cards were not made and he did not buy any property. The girl alleges that Avesh and his family members want to kill her. Taking advantage of the helplessness, father-in-law Aliqamar and brother-in-law Altamas raped her several times.
Sometimes by feeding intoxicants and sometimes by placing a knife on the neck. Many times I have seen my seven year old daughter being touched inappropriately and taken into the room in an objectionable position. To get rid of this humiliating life, the girl tried to commit suicide twice.
The allegation is also that when the girl informed her mother-in-law Shabnam about the brutality being committed by her father-in-law and brother-in-law, she hit her with a stick due to which her hand was broken. When I told the whole matter to my husband on phone, he said whether you live or die, it doesn’t matter to us. The girl said that her daughter and her life were in danger. The accused, husband and mother-in-law Shabnam are continuously pressurizing her to take up the case and saying that take up the case otherwise they will kill her. If the police does not do its job in this matter, any incident can happen, hence vigilance is necessary.
