Sandhya told ANI, “Two policemen came to my house, I had just woken up. They said your son is dead; would you like to go to the hospital? They said I could go with them if I wanted. I said, ‘I can’t go, my husband is ill… I am not in such a condition that I can go… Do whatever you want, I have no objection.’

- Standing firm on her decision, the mother said that her son had reaped the fruits of his actions. She said, “My son has been punished for what he did. I will not take my son’s body, nor will I accept it. I will not bring his body home because he did not do any good.
