Two trains came face to face on the same track in Burdwan district of West Bengal. The passengers got scared as soon as they saw the trains face to face and then started running here and there as soon as the train stopped. At the same time, some passengers fell on the train tracks. This negligence could have resulted in a major accident. However, due to the wisdom of the loco pilot, no major accident occurred. It is being told that there was a fault in the engine of the goods train. Due to this reason two trains came face to face.
On Thursday morning, a goods train stopped in front of Jhapandanga station on Howrah Burdwan Cordline. Shortly thereafter, Shantiniketan Express (12337) going from Howrah to Bolpur also reached its track. Seeing this incident, there was panic among the passengers and then some passengers started running here and there to save their lives. During this time, some people also fell on the train tracks in their haste.
Accident averted due to driver’s wisdom
According to the passengers traveling in the train, Shantiniketan Express train stops far away from the goods train on Howrah Burdwan Cordline. Some passengers get very scared as soon as the train stops in the middle and sees another train in front. Meanwhile, passengers get worried and start running here and there to save their lives. Passengers said that it was because of the wisdom of the loco pilot that no major accident happened.
There was a fault in the engine of the goods train.
Giving information about the matter, Chief Public Relations Officer of Eastern Railway, Kaushik Mitra said that the engine of the goods train broke down before reaching Jhapandanga station. Meanwhile, the Shantiniketan Express coming from behind stopped. Now there is no fear of accident. Because now trains run on automatic signaling system. There is no mechanical fault or signal disturbance in the railways. The station master told that due to a fault in the engine of the goods train, Shantiniketan Express had stopped behind without receiving the signal.
