Mata Lakshmi
The house where Goddess Lakshmi resides, there resides wealth and opulence. Mother Lakshmi is fickle. On the contrary, the banyan tree is stable and is considered a symbol of renunciation along with salvation. In such a situation, it is completely prohibited to keep or climb the banyan tree during the worship of Goddess Lakshmi.
Lord Ganesha
Lord Ganesha is the god of intelligence. He is considered a destroyer of obstacles. Lord Ganesha is worshiped first. Durva is offered in the worship of Lord Ganesha. Things related to renunciation are not offered in his worship. Therefore, offering banyan leaves in Ganesh worship is prohibited.

Banyan leaves are used in the worship of Shani Dev, in the worship of Hanuman ji, in the worship of Peepal tree, in the worship of Vat Savitri Vrat and in tantric remedies.
