Bank locker rules changed, now this much money will have to be paid in top banks of the country

Some rules related to rent, security and nomination of facilities related to bank locker have been changed. This rule is going to be implemented in the top banks of the country like SBI, ICICI, HDFC and PNB. Let us understand the details of charges between all these banks and how much more money will have to be paid now.

Bank locker facilities are provided by banks to different categories of customers, such as individual customers, partnership firms, limited companies, clubs, etc. However, banks do not allot lockers in the name of minors. Banks act as a kind of lessor to their customers, providing locker service on an annual rent basis.

In terms of security, banks assure that the custody of customers’ valuables is much safer than their fees. Let us tell you that when cash is kept in the bank, they are not responsible for its safety. Therefore, keep this in mind while storing the same.

Fare will vary according to location

According to an ET report, the locker rent of SBI, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, and PNB may vary depending on the branch of the bank, location, and size of the locker. Let us understand its details. The bank has released the new rate.

SBI Locker Rent

  • Small Locker: Rs 2,000 (Metro/Urban) and Rs 1,500 (Semi-Urban/Rural)
  • Medium Locker: Rs 4,000 (Metro/Urban) and Rs 3,000 (Semi-Urban/Rural)
  • Large Locker: Rs 8,000 (Metro/Urban) and Rs 6,000 (Semi-Urban/Rural)
  • Extra Large Locker: Rs 12,000 (Metro/Urban) and Rs 9,000 (Semi-Urban/Rural)

ICICI Bank Locker Rent

  • Rural areas: Rs 1,200 to Rs 10,000
  • Semi-urban areas: Rs 2,000 to Rs 15,000
  • Urban areas: Rs 3,000 to Rs 16,000
  • Metro: Rs 3,500 to Rs 20,000
  • Metro+ Location: Rs 4,000 to Rs 22,000

hdfc bank locker charges

  • Metro branches: Rs 1,350 to Rs 20,000
  • Urban areas: Rs 1,100 to Rs 15,000
  • Semi-urban areas: Rs 1,100 to Rs 11,000
  • Rural areas: Rs 550 to Rs 9,000

pnb locker charges

  • Rural areas: Rs 1,250 to Rs 10,000
  • Urban areas: Rs 2,000 to Rs 10,000

Let us tell you that the bank provides the facility of 12 free visits to the customers, after which a fee of Rs 100 is charged for every additional visit.
