The special thing is that in the last week of the month, due to Muharram and weekends, banks will remain closed for three to four consecutive days in many cities. According to the RBI calendar, the regular holidays falling across the country in June 2026 are as follows:

  • June 13: Second Saturday
  • June 14: Sunday
  • June 21: Sunday
  • June 27: Fourth Saturday
  • June 28: Sunday

All bank branches across the country will remain closed on these dates.

  • June 15: YMA Day and Raja Sankranti: Bank branches will remain closed in Aizawl and Bhubaneswar on this day.
  • June 17: Maharana Pratap Jayanti: There will be bank holiday in Haryana and Himachal Pradesh.
  • June 18: Shri Guru Arjun Dev Ji Martyrdom Day: There will be no work in banks in Punjab.

There will be a big long weekend on Muharram

Bank customers will need the most attention in the last week of June. Due to Muharram and weekend falling together, there will be continuous holidays in many cities.

  • June 25: Muharram: Banks will remain closed in Vijayawada.
  • June 26: Muharram and Ashura: Bank branches will remain closed in many big cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Lucknow, Patna, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Ranchi and Srinagar.
  • June 27: Fourth Saturday: Bank holiday across the country.

Holidays will continue even at the end of the month

  • June 29: Sant Guru Kabir Jayanti: Banks will remain closed in Shimla.
  • June 30: Rema Ni Festival: There will be no functioning of bank branches in Aizawl.

Banks will remain closed, but digital services will continue

Although there will be a holiday in bank branches, customers do not need to worry about digital banking services. UPI, net banking, mobile banking and ATM services will continue to function normally. The facility to send money and make payments through platforms like Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm and BHIM will be available 24 hours. Apart from this, services like debit and credit card payment, online fund transfer and cash withdrawal from ATM will also remain operational.
