‘Bandish Bandits’ Star Shreyaa Chaudhry to Make Theatrical Debut Opposite Ayushmann Khurrana in ‘Mupapa’

Actress Shreyaa Chaudhry, known for Bandish Bandits and The Mehta Boys, is set to star opposite Ayushmann Khurrana in the upcoming theatrical film Mupapa, marking a significant new step in her career.

Directed by Sameer Saxena, the film is scheduled to hit theatres on February 19, 2027. The project will mark Shreyaa’s theatrical debut in a leading role alongside Ayushmann.

Mupapa is being produced by Akshaye Widhani, CEO of Yash Raj Films, and Posham Pa Pictures, the production banner co-founded by Saxena with Biswapati Sarkar, Saurabh Khanna and Amit Golani. The film marks the first theatrical collaboration between the studio and the production house.

Details about the storyline and Shreyaa’s character are being kept under wraps.

Alongside the film announcement, Shreyaa has also signed an exclusive management deal with YRF Talent, marking another important development in her professional journey.

Shreyaa began her film career with Dear Maya in 2017, playing Ira. She gained wider recognition with Bandish Bandits, in which she portrayed pop star Tamanna Sharma as the character navigated the intersection of classical and contemporary music. She subsequently appeared in the short film The Other Way and played Zara in The Mehta Boys.

Ayushmann, meanwhile, has established himself with films that often explore social themes through stories centred on ordinary protagonists. A National Award winner, he rose to prominence after winning the second season of MTV Roadies in 2004 before making his Bollywood debut with Vicky Donor in 2012.

His filmography includes Dum Laga Ke Haisha, Bareilly Ki Barfi, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, Andhadhun, Badhaai Ho, Dream Girl, Bala, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, Dream Girl 2 and Thamma. His upcoming projects include Udta Teer.
