The tour of Bangladesh has not been good for the Australian cricket team, where it had to face defeat in the first two ODI matches. The team had already lost the series but in the last ODI match, the Australian team witnessed a pleasant moment when its young batsman Cooper Connolly scored a brilliant century. Left-handed batting all-rounder Connolly, who was opening for the team, scored his first century in international cricket while chasing the target of 275 runs. He achieved this milestone in just 87 balls and led the team to victory.

In the last ODI match of the series in Mirpur on Sunday 14 June, the Australian team took the field to avoid the embarrassment of a clean sweep. Batting first, Bangladesh scored 274 runs. In response to this, once again Bangladeshi fast bowlers gave a shock to Australia in the beginning. The team had lost 3 wickets only for 70 runs and at such a time Connolly maintained the lead from one end.

Century in International also after IPL

22 year old Cooper Connolly could not do anything amazing in the last two matches of the series. In the first match he scored only 35 runs while in the second he could not even open his account. But this time he did not let it happen. First, he formed a partnership with Marnus Labuschagne and then Cameron Green and took the team beyond 200 runs. Meanwhile, Cooper Connolly succeeded in scoring his first century in international cricket by taking 1 run in the 31st over.

To reach his century, he faced only 87 balls and during this he hit 3 sixes along with 11 fours. This is Connolly’s second century in the last one month. Earlier, he had played a century innings for Punjab Kings in IPL 2026. This was his first century in T20 cricket too and now by repeating the same success in International also, Connolly proved that the trust being placed in him is not wrong.
