Balochistan: BYC accuses Pakistan of demolishing houses, says – this is a new level of repression. BYC Slams Pakistan For Demolishing Homes In Balochistan Calls It Repression

Baloch Yakzehti Committee (BYC) has condemned the demolition of several houses by Pakistani authorities in Gwadar. It is alleged that the house of the family of the forcibly disappeared person was also demolished. BYC has called it an act of repression against Baloch families.

Balochistan [पाकिस्तान] July 10 (ANI) Baloch Yaqzehti Committee (BYC) has strongly criticized Pakistani authorities over the demolition of several houses in Jiwani of Gwadar district. The committee has described this action as a step to further intensify the state’s repression against Baloch families. The group has alleged that the house of the family of forcibly disappeared Asghar Ali along with at least six other houses were demolished without any legal process, The Balochistan Post reported.

The family of a missing person was targeted

According to The Balochistan Post, BYC said that Asghar Ali’s relatives were being forced to give statements under repeated security raids, threats and pressure since his disappearance. The organization claimed that this latest demolition, carried out using heavy machinery, is another step in the systematic harassment of the family.

The committee further alleged that the houses of Rizwan Rashid, Ali Asghar, Ghulam Nabi Jafar, Yar Jaan, Mohammad Jaan and Ghani Jafar were also demolished in Jiwani.

Violations of law and human rights

BYC said evicting families from their homes without any judicial approval or legal justification and forcing them to watch their properties get destroyed in extreme weather is a serious violation of basic human rights. The organization claimed that such actions were being taken outside the scope of Pakistan’s own constitutional and legal protection.

Such incidents are increasing in Balochistan

BYC also alleged that similar incidents of burning, looting, damage and demolition of residential properties have become more frequent in different parts of Balochistan, including Kohad in Karachi, Tump, Panwan in Jiwani and Dasht in Mastung. According to The Balochistan Post, the committee has accused security personnel, especially members of the Frontier Corps, of carrying out these operations without any accountability.

Appeal for investigation by international organizations

BYC also criticized Pakistani political parties and government institutions for maintaining silence over these alleged abuses. According to The Balochistan Post report, the committee has urged international human rights organizations to investigate these alleged demolitions and put pressure on Pakistan to ensure accountability.
