About 1000 doctors and employees of Delhi’s Ayushman Arogya Mandir (Mohalla Clinic) have not received salaries for 3 months. They are facing financial crisis due to delay in funds and administrative hurdles.
New Delhi: Doctors and health workers working in Ayushman Arogya Mandir, formerly known as Mohalla Clinic in Delhi, have not received salaries for the last three months. They have not yet been paid their salaries for the months of February, March and April. According to the information, about 1000 employees including doctors, lab technicians and assistants are affected by this. The reason for this is being said to be delay in release of funds and some administrative hurdles.
It is also alleged that this situation has arisen due to the ongoing disputes between the Health Department and the Finance Department of the Delhi Government. Many employees are in serious financial crisis due to non-payment of salaries. Doctors say that they do not even have money to pay house rent and meet daily expenses. A letter has been written to the authorities regarding this matter, but no clear reply has been received. Despite the salary freeze, most clinics are still operating. However, staff have warned that if this situation continues it will impact health services. Let us tell you that the Aam Aadmi Party government had started Mohalla Clinics to provide primary health services to the common people in Delhi. Later its name was changed to Ayushman Arogya Mandir.
