Ayodhya Development Authority has put a notice at the house of Ram temple donation scam accused Lavkush Mishra. They have been asked for the approved map of the house and have been warned to seal the house if it is not shown. The judicial custody of 8 accused including Mishra has been extended by 14 days.
Ram temple donation scam: ADA notice at accused’s house
Ayodhya Development Authority (ADA) on Tuesday pasted a notice on the newly constructed house of Lavkush Mishra. The property is reportedly registered in the name of his wife Supriya Mishra. In the notice, the owners have been directed to submit the approved plan of the building.
According to the notice, the ADA had earlier issued a notice on July 3 asking the owners to submit the approved building plan of the property. However, due to the required documents not being submitted within the stipulated time, the authority has now set a new deadline of July 15. The notice said that if the approved building plan is not submitted by the due date, the property can be sealed under relevant provisions of law.
Legal action and Supreme Court intervention in the matter
Lavkush Mishra is one of the accused in the alleged Ram temple donation embezzlement case, which is under investigation. The matter is still in the judicial process and no conclusion has been reached regarding the allegations. Meanwhile, an Ayodhya court on July 13 extended the judicial custody of all eight accused by 14 days. The accused appeared in the court through video conferencing and their next appearance is scheduled for July 27.
Earlier, the Supreme Court had issued notices to the Centre, Uttar Pradesh government and Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust on petitions seeking an independent and court-monitored probe into the alleged misuse of donations at the Ram Janmabhoomi temple. The petitions filed in the Supreme Court have sought an independent investigation into allegations that donations given by devotees at the Ram temple were embezzled by cash counting staff.
